Eucalyptus grandis or 'Rose Gum', is our NEW hardwood for stretcher bars.
RHD will lead the way as Australia transitions away from native logging practices and eases the pressure on old growth forests. Grown in FSC Certified Plantations this timber is resistant to Lyctus borers and possesses a moderate durability and strength. It has straighter grain, less knots, and is considerably lighter in weight and density than Australian Ash, leading to a higher quality hardwood stretcher bar ready to take over from our Victorian Ash history.
This fine-grained, kiln-dried timber because is more resistant to changes in humidity than pine, and less likely to warp. The straightest timber stretcher bars you'll find!

Technical details:
Profile: 42mm width, 32mm thickness
Bevel: 9 degrees, i.e. 32mm outside thickness, 27mm inside thickness
Join: European mitred mortice and tenon with slots for wedges
